  2.                           NCR 32 BIT DISPLAY DRIVERS
  3.                                   for OS/2         
  4. Please Note:

  7.     1. These drivers are intended for OS/2 2.1
  8.  
  9.     2. If the standard VGA (640x480x16) drivers are installed 
  10.        after installing NCR high resolution drivers, an extra line
  11.        may be left in config.sys that will generate a warning message.
  12.        This is the result of an attempt to load two virtual video 
  13.        drivers ( DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\(VirtualVideoDriver).SYS  ).
  14.        Simply edit CONFIG.SYS and delete the the extra line.
  15.  
  16.        Example: After installing NCR's SVGA drivers and reinstalling
  17.                 the standard VGA drivers, CONFIG.SYS may have
  18.                 these two lines:
  19.  
  20.                            DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGANCR.SYS
  21.                            DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VVGA.SYS
  22.  
  23.                 Simply delete (or remark) the NCR driver to use the
  24.                 standard VGA driver.

  26.                            REM DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGANCR.SYS
  27.                            DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VVGA.SYS
  28.  
  29.     3.  All 800x600 full screen WINOS2 sessions will run at 56Hz verticle
  30.         refresh.  If you have a multisynch monitor (type 03) and you wish
  31.         to display 800x600 modes at 72Hz verticle refresh rate, then edit 
  32.         your config.sys and change the following line from:

  34.                 DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\HIGH_RES.SYS /V /M:01
  35.            to:
  36.                 DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\HIGH_RES.SYS /V /M:03

  40. INSTALLING NCR 32 BIT VIDEO DRIVERS FOR OS/2 2.1
  41. ------------------------------------------------
  42.     1. Insert the NCR 32 Bit OS/2 Video Drivers Disk into drive A:
  43.     2. Run the install program on the disk.  Don't forget to put
  44.        the drive letter of your OS/2 installation.  For example, 
  45.        if OS/2 was installed on drive D: the following command 
  46.        would be used:

  48.            EX:   A:\INSTALL D
  49.  
  50.     3. Click on "Primary Display", then click on "OK"
  51.     4. Select "NCR 77C22/77C22E SVGA Chipset."  Press "OK"
  52.     5. Answer the prompt to indicate what type of monitor is attachted.
  53.     6. Select the appropriate driver resolution from the list and press "OK"
  54.     7. The next panel allows you to change the source directory.
  55.        Simply press "INSTALL..." and accept the default of "A:\"
  56.     8. Files will be copied to your hard drive.  CONFIG.SYS, OS2.INI,
  57.        SYSTEM.INI, will be modified to use the new SVGA drivers.
  58.     9. A message window will be displayed stating that the system must
  59.        be shutdown and rebooted for the changes to take effect.  
  60.        Press "OK" to continue.
  61.    10. You must SHUTDOWN and reboot for the changes to take effect.
